195. Niagara Falls is mind blowing
From Boston we flew to the Niagara Falls to see one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the world. Indeed the 24 hour experience was mind-blowing. One needs to land in Buffalo International Airport to visit the Falls from the American side.
It is said to experience the falls go from the American side and to see them go from the Canadian side. We did the former as we did not have Canadian visas. For non American passports getting a visa at the border is not a possibility which we were aware of and hence did not try.
The best way to enjoy the Falls is to get a Discover Pass and explore the five things the $33 pass offers. The highlights are the scenic trolley tour with options to hop off and hop on – the entire tour is 40 minutes. The Discover Center and the Aquarium are no great shakes but come with the pass and may be visited. The Cave of the Winds and the Maid of the Mist are a Must do and the former maybe done again and again by purchasing additional tickets.
Watching the Falls in the day and the night are two different experiences and must be done. A trip to Niagara should be the duty of every American and an opportunity never to be missed by every visitor to the USA. Magnificient in every respect – the roar, the sight and the feeling of being there.
