267. You create Happiness and no one else
I am a firm believer that only the individual can make himself or herself happy or sad. And choosing the former is the best choice at all times. This weekend was one of those weekends when I knew I would be super happy and indeed it was.
It began by rising later than usual and heading for a lunch by myself to Nomi at Chicago’s Park Hyatt as part of the Restaurant Week. Then a walk to the Teuscher’s outlet – one of the world’s most expensive and best chocolate brands. I bought my weekly dose of mandarin and praline bars and headed to watch to Oscar nominated movies back to back: Zero Dark thirty and Silver Linings Playbook.
This was followed by a late Sunday afternoon brunch at Little Goat with a couple of friends and then ended with a bunch of other friends coming over to celebrate one other friend’s birthday. Happiness galore because you can be happy among friends but more importantly you must learn to be happy alone, as well. And to top it I started Monday by gifting myself a fun holiday on the last weekend of the month to San Diego.
