308. The curious case of Swathi Ravirala
I know this girl who is the subject of my blog and gets mentioned in the headline itself. She is one of the many techies in the US living in Chicago and I happened to rent an apartment in the same building where she lives. She has a full time job and is doing an evening MBA at the prestigious Booth School of Business.
Here’s a story of hers on luck and connections that got me thinking of how sometimes it’s all about being at the right place at the right time. Swathi happens to have a classmate who is employed by a leading international airline who randomly chose Swathi to be her travel partner whereby Swathi gets 365 days of unlimited business class travel anywhere in the world, no questions asked and also earns miles on them. last month Swathi flew to San Francisco in the morning for lunch, strolled on the Golden Gate Bridge and then returned back to Chicago in the evening without spending a single penny for the flight.
And to think of it that the classmate of hers and she were just acquaintances and not connected in anyway except sitting on the same bench in class. Some people are too kind, some people are lucky to get these privileges. But some people just deserve it and maybe Swathi is one of them.
The question I have is that – Is there something called luck or all this is preplanned by a supernatural power that some of us call God?
